Hillview

The neighbourhood of Hillview is part of the city of Edmonton, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a very good medium of transportation in this part of Edmonton. It is convenient to come across a parking spot, and nearby highways are easy to reach from any home in Hillview. However, the public transit service in this part of Edmonton is not particularly frequent. Nonetheless, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually just around the corner. Moving around by bicycle is easy in this part of the city because the cycling network is fairly good. In contrast, walking is not very common in Hillview, although many daily errands can be run without having to resort to a vehicle.

Services

It is challenging to reach the closest supermarket on foot in this part of the city. Residents can enjoy a few restaurants and cafes as well. As far as education is concerned, parents and their children will appreciate that wherever their property is situated in this neighbourhood, primary schools and daycares are nearby. However, Hillview does not have any high schools.

Character

Hillview is an excellent neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. This area is very quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Lastly, it is very easy to access parks in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore.

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing most buildings in Hillview, but small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This part of Edmonton offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the remainder are renters. This area experienced its main building boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period.
