Gleneagles

The neighbourhood of Gleneagles is part of the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Commuting by car is especially convenient in Gleneagles. Most houses for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and coming across a place to park is easy. However, Gleneagles is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, property owners have access to a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Gleneagles is not very conducive to biking since cyclists encounter quite a few elevation changes, and this area is home to a sometimes poor cycling infrastructure. It is also impractical for pedestrians to navigate this area since very few daily needs can be carried out without having to resort to a car.

Services

It is a very short walk to get to primary schools from any location in this neighbourhood. However, there are no high schools in this part of West Vancouver. When it comes to food, a grocery store is ordinarily reachable within a short walk from most houses for sale in this area.

Character

The character of Gleneagles is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. This part of the municipality is very quiet, as the streets tend to be very tranquil - although there are still several noisier sections, especially near Trans-Canada Highway. Finally, public green spaces are very well-distributed and there are approximately 10 of them nearby for residents to enjoy, which makes it easy to reach them.

Housing

About 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the remainder are renters. In this part of West Vancouver, the vast majority of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly duplexes. Roughly one third of properties in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
