Walking is feasible for home buyers in Westview; many day-to-day needs are convenient to meet without having to resort to a car, and a fair number of businesses of different types can be found as well. Many real estate listings are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and it is convenient to park. On the other hand, the public transit system in Westview is not very accessible. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most houses.

House buyers in Westview will value that a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a short walk away. Moreover, there is commonly a restaurant or cafe just around the corner. In terms of education, it is a short walk to access daycares and schools from most homes for sale in Westview. At the elementary level, there are both public and private schools.

The character of Westview is exemplified by its calm atmosphere. It is very easy to access parks since there are a few of them close by for residents to enjoy. This part of the city is reasonably quiet overall, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic - although there are still several louder sections, especially closer to Trans-Canada Highway.

About 30% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Westview, and the rest of the houses are mainly duplexes and single detached homes. This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 70% of the properties in Westview and 30% are occupied by renters. Around 40% of homes in this part of the city were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 2000s.
