Being a very young couple purchasing our first home, we were skeptical of realtors and brokers who may not have our best interest in mind, and just want to make a sale. While we were trying to decide who to get started with, Brendan visited the shop I work at to have some auto glass replaced. Given that we had an interest in similar cars, our friendship continued onward from there. Eventually it came up in conversation that my girlfriend and I were looking for a house, and that's when I found out Brendan was a realtor! That same night, while he had other things he could do, Brendan offered to take us to a few listings to get a feel for what can buy you what in different neighborhoods for different prices. I was a little worried that I was getting myself into some kind of commitment, given that I was now taking time out of his day, but he assured us that there was no commitment and just wanted us to have a better understanding of good & bad houses. I found it very generous of him to do that, and not start throwing numbers at us the first few places we looked at. I felt very calm and comfortable after that. Brendan has not only a lot of experience in selling homes, but building them as well. So, he was able to point out things that other realtors may not pay much attention to. This knowledge helped us stay away from a house that we THOUGHT we wanted, but would have been very problematic in the future. After that, I was confident that Brendan had our best interest in mind, and wasn't going to let us purchase a house that would fall apart as soon as we moved in. Brendan was so accommodating with all of our questions, as we had a lot of them. He was even able to answer questions about the process as a whole (brokers, banks, lawyers) in great detail, and in a way that a new home purchaser could understand. No matter how many times I asked the same question, Brendan was always quick and compassionate with his response. I feel that if I were to highlight all the things Brendan did well, I would be typing a much longer paragraph, but some key things I'll note are: great communication, extremely kind and friendly, will look at 100 houses if that's what it takes to find the right one, and has an exceptional understanding of the market and industry. The gift he gave us on possession day was also so thoughtful, and left me feeling like I owed him a gift as well. All in all, we are happily settled in to our new home and would work with Brendan again in a heartbeat. I've already recommended him to a couple friends looking to get into their first house as well, and will continue to do so. Thank you so much for everything!
