Spry Bay

Spry Bay is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a great mode of transportation in this part of the municipality. It is very convenient to park. Walking is not very practical for home buyers in this area since almost no daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. This part of Halifax is also not very appropriate for biking because there are a fair number of hills for cyclists to brave, and the cycling infrastructure is quite bad.

Services

Spry Bay does not contain any high schools or primary schools. When it comes to food, a car is almost always required in this area to reach the nearest grocery store.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere will enjoy Spry Bay. Most areas in Spry Bay are quiet, as the streets tend to be reasonably peaceful. Parks aren't well-situated, which makes it rather difficult to reach them from numerous locations in the community. Still, residents will be able to access public green spaces in nearby communities.

Housing

About one third of homes in Spry Bay were constructed before the 1960s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. The sizeable percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Around 85% of the population of this community own their home while the rest are renters. This part of Halifax also has a good selection of unit sizes; it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
