Tyandaga

The neighbourhood of Tyandaga is part of the city of Burlington, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Tyandaga is an extraordinarily good part of Burlington for travelling by car. It is straightforward to access a place to park, and most properties for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 407. In contrast, this area is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Tyandaga is not especially conducive to biking because the cycling network is rather poor, and there is a considerable amount of slopes. Walking is also not especially feasible for residents in Tyandaga since few day-to-day needs can be met on foot.

Services

The nearest supermarket in Tyandaga is generally only a reasonably short walk away. There are also a few restaurants in this part of the city. When it comes to education, it is a reasonably short walk to access primary schools and daycares from any location in Tyandaga. However, this area does not contain any high schools.

Character

Tyandaga offers a relaxed environment and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. There are a few parks close by for residents to discover and they are very well-distributed, making them easy to reach. This part of Burlington is very quiet overall, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

About 80% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while renters occupy the remainder. In this neighbourhood, about two thirds of dwellings are single detached homes, and the remaining properties are mainly large apartment buildings. Most of the housing growth in this area occurred in the 1960s and 1970s. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
