Part of the Greater Oshawa metropolitan area, Columbus is a neighbourhood within Oshawa, Ontario.

Transportation

Columbus is very car friendly. It is very convenient to park. On the other hand, public transit users may experience very few choices in this part of Oshawa due to the infrequent service. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines. A majority of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are not very conducive to walking as carrying out daily needs is impractical on foot. Cycling is also difficult in Columbus since the topography is not especially flat, and the cycling network is not very well-developed.

Services

There are only a very small number of primary schools in Columbus and consequently they can be a very long walk away. Moreover, this area does not contain any high schools. In addition, there are only a limited number of daycares and thus they can be an extended walk away. With regards to eating, some, but not all, property owners in Columbus will live within walking distance of the closest grocery store. Residents can enjoy a few restaurants and coffee shops as well.
