Transportation

The car is usually the best way to get around in Pointe Claire Village. Most properties for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Autoroute du Souvenir, and it is very convenient to park. On the other hand, the public transit network in this area is not very practical. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are generally nearby. Riding a bike is popular in Pointe Claire Village because the bicycling network is reasonably well-developed. However, a majority of the homes for sale in this area are located in areas that are not particularly conducive to those who travel by foot because common amenities such as banks or post offices can be an occasionally long walk away.

As far as food is concerned, it is convenient to access the closest supermarket on foot from any location in this part of Pointe-Claire. A small variety of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well.

Character

Pointe Claire Village is a very good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. The greenery in this area is reasonably prominent as there are many tree-lined streets. Parks, like Parc Alexandre-Bourgeau, are especially well-spread out and there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out, making it easy to access them. This area is very quiet overall, as the streets are very tranquil around Autoroute du Souvenir.

Housing

Most homes in Pointe Claire Village were constructed pre-1960, during its largest building boom. Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing most dwellings in this neighbourhood, but small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock.
