Devonshire

The neighbourhood of Devonshire can be found in the city of Windsor, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Windsor metropolitan area.

Transportation

Devonshire is very car friendly. It is a reasonably short drive to the closest highway, such as E C Row Expressway, from anywhere in this part of Windsor, and parking is quite easy. However, commuting by transit can be difficult in Devonshire as a result of the infrequent service. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. This neighbourhood is reasonably bike-friendly since the topography is flat. In contrast, there aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of this neighbourhood, although most daily needs are easy to meet on foot.

Services

Some, but not all, house buyers in Devonshire will reside within walking distance of the closest grocery store. A limited variety of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well. Concerning education, it is a rather short walk to access primary schools and daycares from most properties for sale in this area. On the other hand, parents and their schoolchildren may consider it challenging to get to high schools as a pedestrian.

Character

There is a great variety of green spaces in Devonshire. There are approximately 10 parks close by for residents to enjoy, like Captain Wilson and Devonwood Conservation Area, and they are very well-located, making it very easy to reach them. Thanks to the presence of few pedestrians, this part of the city remains relatively quiet, although there can be more noise for those who are near E C Row Expressway or the railway line.

Housing

About 30% of homes in Devonshire were built between 1990 and 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in this neighbourhood. Homeowners occupy around 85% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood and the rest are rented. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
