The neighbourhood of Fairview can be found in the city of Pointe-Claire, Quebec, which is located in the Greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Transportation

Physically active people will enjoy the pedestrian-friendly character of Fairview; many day-to-day errands can be run without the use of a car. Commuting by bicycle is also convenient in Fairview as there are a limited number of slopes to challenge cyclists, and the cycling infrastructure is good. The public transit network in this part of the city is sometimes poor. Nevertheless, house owners benefit from approximately 20 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. On the other hand, commuting by car is very convenient in Fairview. It is straightforward to access a parking spot, and it is a short car ride to the closest highway, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc, from anywhere in this neighbourhood.

Services

It is straightforward to access the closest grocery store by walking in Fairview. A limited selection of restaurants and cafes is available as well. With regards to education, it is a rather short walk to access high schools from any location in this neighbourhood. However, Fairview does not contain any primary schools.

Character

Fairview offers a great variety of green spaces to enjoy, as well as some areas with a vibrant ambience. To be more specific, it is easy to reach green spaces from a lot of locations in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to relax in. However, the tree canopy coverage for the majority of streets is below average. This neighbourhood is relatively quiet, as there are few pedestrians, although noise levels are higher closer to the railway line or Autoroute Félix-Leclerc.
